You don't have to .. TAXO'D to the rescue again !
Freelancers need to be able to invoice clients in order to get money, and TAXO'D likes to help freelancers get money.
Without an invoice you will not be getting paid, and hence an invoice template is a requirement for all freelancers.
First Freelance, Second Get the Work, Third Invoice for the Work
No one likes to chase clients for money .. but invoicing ensures that you are paid within a certain timeframe and via your preferred payment method (BACS, cheque, paypal etc) It also clearly illustrates to the client what goods / services they are being charged for and what VAT they have paid.
Using the same free invoice template UK is a great invoice example and will save your oodles of time, streamline your invoicing process and will assist you in structuring an invoicing routine. It will also help in allocating specific, invoice reference numbers to each job you do (which makes bookkeeping and invoice chasing far less of a headache.)
TAXO'D has whipped up a super simple invoice template that will hopefully save you heaps of time which is better spent doing the things you love.
TAXO'D TOP TIP - The template link will download a docx and a pdf version as standard but also a link to the googledoc with 3x different colour options. From these googledocs you can export the template in your required formats: ODT, PDF, RTF, HTML, TXT, EPUB etc
The things that the TAXO'D freelance invoice template has (that every invoice needs) are:
There are certain invoice requirements UK. The invoice number you assign should have not been used before. Utilise a simple system for invoice numbers and stick to it
ie. start at INVOICE 00001, then 00002 and so on and so forth
This makes following up and chasing invoices so much easier when you can quote the invoice number to the client.
Unfortunately (if you haven't already found out) Get used to chasing invoices ! It seems almost systemic in the UK with most business choosing to pay invoices 'later' rather than 'sooner'. I have found over the years that -'the bigger the client, the later the payment'. Which obviously is bad news for freelancers and the self-employed.
TAXO'D TOP TIP - Don't expect invoices to be paid early. Always try to ensure your business has a stable cash flow and some 'dollar in the bank.' Think of this as a chapter in your 'Freelancers Survival Handbook'
Always keep all copies of invoices that you send for your own records. You do not want to loose these and you may require them in the future. I would strongly advise getting a exterior hard drive on the go and making a backup of all copies.
Anyways, enough talking about 'free invoice template UK!' . Here is your:
